Led the City of Oakland's Environmental Stewardship Team which supports community efforts to clean, green, and beautify Oakland. The Stewardship Team supports year-round volunteerism at hundreds of adopted spots in Oakland. The Stewardship Team also produces annual city-wide community environmental cleanups for Earth Day, Coastal Cleanup Day, and Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. Perform klezmer, Balkan, and Jewish ritual music on clarinet, bass clarinet, and saxophone. Currently I lead Saul Goodman’s Klezmer Band and am active with the Chochmat HaLev Sacred Music Ensemble and the Kehilla Klezmer Band. I also teach music workshops for KlezCalifornia. Past projects include Zoyres Eastern European Wild Ferment and Inspector Gadje. in concert venues, dance halls, street festivals, ritual settings, and celebrations such as weddings and parties.

Assist organization in producing and promoting klezmer and Yiddish culture events in the San Francisco Bay Area. Have helped draft outreach and fundraising materials and plan and produce cultural festivals.

Contracts included projects with Golden Gate Audubon Society, the Bay Area Early Detection Network, Creekside Center for Earth Observation, and the Alameda County Resource Conservation District.

Conducted ecological monitoring; botanical surveys; data entry, analysis and management; and reporting for mitigation and restoration projects. Completed nine mitigation monitoring reports. Also conducted scientific literature reviews for the Bay-Delta Conservation Plan.

Coordinated early detection and eradication treatment of invasive plants throughout the 9-county San Francisco Bay Area. Coordinated and implemented partner and public outreach & communications, training, scientific modeling, GIS, fundraising, grant administration and finances. Managed $440,000 in government and non-profit grants.Developed and published the first Bay Area early detection invasive plant species list using scientific weed-risk-assessments and expert input.Prioritized and coordinated invasive plant eradications by partners and contractors across hundreds of sites across the Bay Area. Supervised contractors and volunteers and provided treatment recommendations to partners. After two years, two-thirds of infestations are under eradication treatment.Authored annual reports, grant proposals and reports, public outreach articles, scientific posters and papers. Maintain organization website.Delivered presentations to partners and stakeholders throughout the region and at statewide meetings (Cal-IPC and CNPS) as a means of outreach, education, and partner-building. Developed and delivered early detection trainings. Promulgated early detection methods by partners across the Bay Area. Quadrupled the number of registered BAEDN partner organizations to over 100.

Coordinate Audubon California's restoration, advocacy, citizen science, and volunteer outreach for the San Francisco Bay Area. Co-manage a tidal marsh restoration in San Pablo Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Developed and implemented biological monitoring plan. Conduct public outreach, volunteer recruitment, and fundraising for the project.Completed GIS mapping of Bay Area Important Bird Areas and contributed to the statewide mapping process. Organize and facilitate Bay Area Audubon Council meetings for San Francisco Bay Area Audubon chapters.Provide public comment and coordination in response to environmental advocacy issues in the Bay Area.Drafted successful nomination for San Francisco Bay’s designation as a Ramsar Wetland of International Importance. Planned, designed, coordinated and conducted ecological restoration (native plant revegetation, exotic plant removal, native plant propagation, and erosion control) and experimental trials at project sites (landfill remediation and restoration, serpentine grassland and scrub restoration, dune restoration, oak reforestation, & forest diversification projects) within the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Analyzed and managed data and reported findings.Assisted with coordination and operation of large community-based volunteer ecological restoration program (tool procurement and maintenance, event planning, coordination and staffing, newsletter article writing, assisting on implementation of health and safety issues).Provided interpretation and education to volunteers and visitors about natural resources, restoration ecology, and park management. Engaged a diverse demographic in environmental education through stewardship and service learning.

Monitored bird abundance, diversity, and behavior as well as human activity at wetland sites along the Bay Trail for a 3 year investigation of trail use and its impacts on migratory shorebirds near trail sites. These data will inform planning of proposed trail system expansions of the San Francisco Bay Trail and other trails near sensitive wetland habitats, ensuring that negative impacts to migratory shorebirds are minimized.

Control and removal of invasive exotic Cape ivy throughout the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and in some locations within Point Reyes National Seashore. Worked in a diversity of habitats including coastal scrub, riparian zones, woodlands, and grasslands. Supervised diverse labor groups: conservation corps, forestry crews, volunteers, and other groups/individuals performing Cape ivy removal. Documented and tracked work performed.

Conducted various field work activities for vegetation and aquatic ecology projects with the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Tasks included: exotic plant removal, conducting topographic surveys, mapping, photomonitoring, and conducting wildlife surveys.

Taught outdoor environmental education programs to kindergarten-eighth grade students at Crissy Field and at the Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary visitor center. Curriculum centered on dune and oceanic ecology and stewardship.

Interpreted aquarium exhibits and displays of the marine life of the San Francisco Bay Area for visitors of the aquarium. Provided interpretation in Spanish for Spanish-only speaking visitors.

Visited high school classrooms in Oakland to teach a 3-hour course on the history of public transportation and how transit history relates to contemporary environmental, social, and political issues.

Supervised Corps members performing restoration and construction projects, ensuring for productive and safe working conditions, organized and planned workdays.Led volunteer plant restoration programs at Crissy Field and other GGNRA sites. Implemented new educational aspects to the volunteer programs such as "Weed of the week."Conducted fieldwork for the Pt. Reyes Coho Salmon and Steelhead Trout Restoration Project (conducting salmon spawner surveys, electrofishing, creek monitoring, habitat typing, G.I.S. mapping, etc.). Conducted monthly water quality monitoring as well as frog, bird, vegetation, and tide pool surveys.Received the Corpsmember of the Month award, February 1999.
