I started in aviation in 1987 as a helicopter pilot in the British Army. After leaving the services in 1995 I progressed into commercial aviation flying S61 and Super Puma for CHC. In 2005 I was selected to lead CHC's introduction into the world of flight data monitoring, where I launched the programme and grew it into one monitoring over 180 helicopters of nine different types operating in 30 bases around the world. In 2010 I launched Helinalysis Ltd, the world's first commercial HFDM Services provider. Helicopters are a completely different beast from aeroplanes, and whilst the principles of HFDM are the same, the complexities of monitoring helicopters requires a sound and deep understanding, a level of knowledge which exists in Helinalysis, gained through 18 years of monitoring helicopters from basic single engine pistons to modern complex state of the art multi-engined aircraft in a variety of roles. Utilising PGS software for verification of data, and monitoring with Aerobytes fdm software, Helinalysis has gained industry recognition as an outstanding provider of HFDM services.
