Responsible for leading the Quality Control responsibilities at the Sheldon, TX manufacturing facility assuring the facility and product quality meets all customer and regulatory requirements. Prepare monthly quality metrics and develop improvement strategies used in QC - Production meetings. Perform internal audits and manage corrective action process to assure a continuous improvement culture exists.

Direct supply chain inspections activity managing a team of Inspection Administrators, Inspection Coordinators and Inspectors. Responsible for assuring Timely Factory Acceptance Test and Final Inspections are performed on procurements supporting FPSO projects. Review Inspection Test Plans and Quality Plans to assure vendor compliance to purchase order, specification and standards. Managed 3rd party inspection companies to assure timely inspection support and accurate invoicing of services. Review inspection field reports to assure product conformance. Support internal and external audits.

Direct procurement activity within the Composites commodity. Responsible for managing overall sourcing strategy, strategic contracting, quality, delivery improvement and cost performance of supply base. Specific responsibilities include establishing and communicating procurement objectives and strategic approach, supervise commodity team information, create responses to legal correspondence; interpret and review contract provisions for accuracy and revisions; work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality, seamless customer service. Develop work assignments and objectives for team members; develop and implement long term agreements with growth suppliers; identify and implement strategy for cost out opportunities.

Responsible for leading the Quality Bond Operations departments which consists on 72 employees, 6 direct reports which include 3 Supervisors and 3 Technical Lead Process Control Engineers. 52 employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement. Manage quality support on the Globalhawk Wing, F-135 Composite Duct, V-22 Osprey Empennage and C17 Programs in Bonding operations. Manage the day-to-day activities of the special process Quality Engineering groups in chemical processing, heat treating, composite bond fabrication, metal bond fabrication, coating application, non-destructive testing level III’s, and calibration lab. Oversee all process and raw material testing activities as well as coordination of fabrication quality engineering. Coordinate the implementation of the Quality Management System across the detail fabrication organization. Interpret and execute policies and procedures that affect organizational units. Recommend modifications to operating policies. Coordinate Corrective Action Boards and interfaces with operations management to facilitate continuous improvement and defect reduction. Oversee efforts to maintain NADCAP accreditation for special processes as well as QMS accreditation. Radiation Safety Officer

TBSA is an assessment checklist used to determine Textron’s present status on our journey to become a world class lean organization. Other responsibilities include developing annual LMR operations action plans, performing project risk assessment and developing mitigation plans, updating the lean goal deployment plan on a monthly basis for senior management, mentoring Six Sigma green and helping new black belts, and working Lean, DFSS and DMAIC six sigma projects. Responsible for managing all aspects of the supplier management process including engineering-requirements generation, order planning and placement, supplier execution, and payment. Managed 15 buyers and 3 supervisors procuring 4 major commodity groups, Castings and Forgings, Bearings and Seals, Raw Material, and Machined parts.

January 2003 - October 2005 Six Sigma Black Belt Led process improvement teams and directed timely completion of projects that support critical division goals. Worked closely with process owners and division leaders to set priorities, developing agendas and design objectives related to Textron, Inc., Six Sigma. Train, mentor, coach, and challenge process owners in the use of Six Sigma statistical methodologies. Prepared, reviewed and approve welding procedure qualification records, production weld schedules and welder certifications. Prepared quality assurance and NDT procedures. Trained and certified NDT personnel. Performed lead auditor duties to support ISO 9001 registration and maintenance program. Activities also included performing source and first article inspections of purchased materials for TM&LS contracts and assigning quality clauses to purchase orders.
