As the Sales Engineer I assisted with the development and growth of the South Central region which included Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Provided technical guidance and support for that sales team, potential and existing customers. Responsible for understanding and reviewing a customers existing network architecture as well as the current use of their DNS, DHCP, Radius, 802.1x and NTP services. Once the information was gathered, I would provide engineering designs as to the appropriate Infoblox solution. I would assist with the sales calls providing demonstrations of the appliance, presentations and evaluation support. Ongoing customer communication was important to maintain customer satisfaction as well as understand any feature requests so that I could report them to the development team and report status back to the customer as the features were being developed.

I was responsible for the initial staffing of an engineering department tasked with the requirement gathering, definition and creation of one of the very first provider with a nation wide intelligent IP network specifically enhanced to provide the necessary tools to gain the best bandwidth utilization for the customers' business applications and video services. As the lead architect I led the team in the development of a nationwide MPLS backbone utilizing Juniper switches tied together with Cisco PE and CPE equipment. Defined the product offerings around the use of the CPE COS/QOS/TOS bit settings to allow the individual applications such as database, video or voice traffic to align with the class of service differentiation inherent with MPLS all based upon the customer determined level of importance factors for each application.

Responsible for the definition, creation and staffing of a new solution based sales approach for Cisco Systems New Emergent Service Provider (NSP) space. Identified the key personnel throughout the organization to begin the solutions building process, which includes understanding the customer business drivers, applying current and future Cisco product, and organizing corporate support organizations. These organizations included Training, Service teams, and the Service Provider Line of Business. Also responsible for determining the NSP SLE skill set, defining the Solutions Engineer (SLE) job description, the sales process and engagement methodologies, and working with my peer organization to begin staffing the SLEs for the three identified geographic areas.
