With more than 25 years of experience within biopharmaceuticals, I have experienced a lot, including getting a start-up off the ground, building an entire Market Access function, and an extended tenure with one of the five largest pharmaceutical companies in the world.In each instance, I have been depended upon to provide product access so the sales teams can go and sell. My colleagues appreciate my leadership and that I can also “walk the walk.” They have acknowledged traits in me that I have long known about myself, including my integrity, work ethic, and drive for results.My therapeutic area experience is vast, some 30-something areas, including oncology and rare disease. If there happens to be a therapeutic area I haven’t yet worked with, I take pride in being able to come up to speed quickly (and have even been recognized for doing so in the past).Reflecting upon my career to date, a couple of accomplishments of which I am most proud include:✔ Building and deploying entire Market Access function and team at a small start-up within a seemingly unattainable deadline of 5 months.✔ Being hand-selected—because of my Market Access acumen—to spearhead a pilot program for Sanofi-Aventis that was designed to transform its sales model to meet changing industry needs. (This project was a $265M sales effort powered by 235 sales professionals.)Within each role, I set the tone through my leadership, vision, and market access acumen—formulating a strategic direction that is based on analytics and an understanding of the markets we serve. I then work to build out the organizational talent (and develop them through coaching and mentoring), to not only achieve goals, but to exceed them.I find grounded-ness in something my wife and I have always told our now-grown daughters, “Remember who you are and what you represent.”If you are looking to gain product access, we should speak—I look forward to it.
