When we tell our stories we find the places we connect.I've been lucky enough to land on many stages, always trying to listen more than I speak. In competition I'm a three time competing National slam poet and have been performing spoken word internationally for 16 years. In 2008 I won the San Francisco Teen Slam and also competed at Nationals in Washington DC that same year. I was also featured as an upcoming poet on the documentary Brave New Voices which aired on HBO, and in 2012 won the International Farrago Poetry Slam in London. Since then I've performed at schools and businesses including Google, and YouTube.Ten years ago as a freshman at San Francisco State University, I founded SPARC Poetry to introduce spoken word and social activism to elementary students in the Bay Area. In 2011, SPARC Poetry received full sponsorship for the Pacifica district and is now being offered in 13 schools in Pacifica, Hayward, and Richmond. In 2019 SPARC poetry became the flagship program of Bay Area Creative, connecting several programs that foster growth through writing in the same community.
