Mill Optimisations:• Developed a real time costing for the operations, providing operators to managers with an instantaneous Dollar feedback on decisions related to chemical and stock flows • Provide a stock flow with quality feedback display system for balancing production to available stock supplies.• Installed a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Quality reporting system, based on key customer requirements.• Maintain and enhance a lost time reporting analysis system for all 3 paper machines, tied into the Honeywell DCS system. And AVANTIS Maintenance system. (Oracle).• Developing a web based Daily Operating Report. Incorporates the existing multi area reporting. • Developed a future upgrade path for the mill information systems and data warehousing• Integrated the historical database into a live stock tank report for a graphical overview of fibre consumption. Mill Support:• Coordinated equipment and upgrade of the autoline paper tester to xp and sql 2000. Upgrade was conducted during an operation period, no data lost, and no interruptions in operations or data capture.• Part of the team installing the Cognex hole/defect detector on PM3 + 4. The Cognex system required servers, workstations and using OPC to interface into MOPS (MOPS now part of TietoEnator Suite of programs)• Part of the team setting up SQL server to handle the LSZ left on spool data base.• Worked with the Paper Quality team, providing customer reports for tracking and maintaining specific customer constraints.• Developed a Pulp Product Consistency Reporting system for CTMP and Ground Wood

Systems Engineer responsible for Mill Information System, development and hardware. Utilized TietoEnator MOPS System to tie together all Process Control Systems (bailey,ulma,accuray etc.) throughout the Mill for analysis, optimisation, quality and Production reporting. I developed all of the quality and daily mill reports using a 4GL , and ODBC tools.Providing Technical hardware and software support to the Maintenance, Stores and Purchasing Departments. This system incorporates bar coding, document and materials handling/inventory system. Implemented a perpetual cycle counting inventory utilising bar coding for inventory counts. Led the project to convert from a DOS based system MAPCON to a NT4 /SQL 6.5/ Powerbuilder based system Mainsaver (JD Edwards). Project was completed successfully with no loss of data or service to the mill. The Perpetual inventory system ROI was $60,000 per year.Assist in installing the mill networks, utilising Novel 3.11, Microsoft LAN, TCIP with 7 P2 servers, 1 Vax, and 2 Alpha systems. Installed NT 4.0 Servers, with Domains, DNS which replaced Novel. The system utilises 10baseT, and Fibre in a star topography.
