I am currently responsible for all day-to-day project delivery, network management and development. I report directly to the Chair of Trustees. Achievements and responsibilities include:• Delivering re-use consultancy to waste disposal authorities – brokering and procuring re-use contracts for housing association and non-housing association residential properties;• Delivering and brokering new textile recycling and re-use programmes in London;• Managing the LCRN network - managing the production of a fortnightly newsletter to over 4,000 recipients; managing the network's social media presence• Writing numerous tenders and funding proposals, including a €1.3M EU Life+ bid, currently under consideration, and successful major framework tenders. Actively xeeking out new sources of funding and income for the network;• Developing the network and proactively identifying growth and funding opportunities, including new material streams and re-use and recycling opportunities.• Communicating and publicising the work and achievements of the community re-use and recycling sector in London, via social media.• Blogging, writing articles, responding to consultations and representing the views of the community re-use and recycling sector in London.• Managing multiple on-going projects for public and private sector clients, including re-use consultancy, environmental and carbon auditing.• Conceiving, publicising, promoting and delivering training, including CIWM WasteSmart, Resource Entrepreneur courses, and City Guilds Levels 1 & 2 to a range of disadvantaged communities.

This involved working with over 200 local authorities across the UK, major retailers, housing associations, schools, prisons and a range of public and private organizations nationwide. This also included developing a network of site finders, developing TRAID’s contact network, identifying and launching innovative approaches to collecting textile, raising TRAID’s profile within the resource and waste sector and lobbying local and central government. Achievements included• Developed an Environmental Management System and successfully obtained ISO14001 standard for an EMS that covered all recycling, sorting and logistical elements of the organisation.• Doubling the size of the bank network (800 to 1600 sites) by recruiting and training a nationwide network of site finders.• Setting up various textile collection pilots with different after liaising with local authorities to introduce a pilot scheme for textile collection, including kerbside collection and bespoke on-demand door-to-door collections. • Securing TRAID textile yields by developing innovative new partnerships with the public sector, notably the London Borough of Brent in a project delivering educational support for textiles, and with several prisons engaging visitor populations in textile up-skilling in return for unwanted clothes. • Working with the Charity Retail Association, compiling a toolkit for third sector organisations to work with local authorities to increase textile collections and lobbying local authorities to reduce textile tendering.

• Planning and delivery of recycling and waste prevention behaviour change strategy, benchmarking exercises, reviews and research for over thirty local authorities, as well as central government , corporates and other NGOs.• Managed framework contracts with public sector clients, successfully responded to numerous briefs and proposals; managing up to ten projects simultaneously, mainly for local government clients, including client relationships, budgets up to £25,000, reporting, management of sub-contractors and delivery. Identified and developed grant funding applications.• Represented Waste Watch at numerous national and international conferences and meetings; spoken at national conference; acted as spokesperson in national and regional print and broadcast media, with regular columns and articles in trade press. • Provided bespoke training on waste, recycling and “cleaner greener” topics for back office staff and operatives and back office staff for twelve local authorities; Delivered open training courses on behalf of Waste Watch, facilitated focus groups, training workshops and organised seminars for local authorities.

Solomon Islands

Built local capacity to develop demonstration green waste recycling system including health & safety and quality assurance systems, developing local educational and community links; ensuring financial sustainability of project, building links with local government and developing relationships with donors. Specific achievements included setting up, with local counterparts, first example of any kind of recycling scheme in the Solomon Islands.
