Security Operations Specialist
CurrentWorking at Knowde was my first experience in cybersecurity. I began my work as a security operations specialist at a time when the company was assembling its own team of specialists who would deal with issues related to security. My duties included:- User access management: User access management implied the creation, maintenance and use of special systems that would differentiate the access of different users to different systems, and also describe their level of access.- Vulnerability management: Vulnerability management included continuous monitoring of critical infrastructure elements to identify, document, escalate and eliminate vulnerabilities in the system using such different tools.- Vendor management: Vendor management included diverse documentation, including checking documents related to the security of a particular vendor, as well as signing relevant documents with it.- Assets management: Using special MDM software, all computers belonging to the company were monitored, configured and managed remotely. It not only included the remote help, but also such procedures as remote wiping.- Applications management: Application management included maintaining an up-to-date list of all applications used in the company, their functionality and status, as well as managing access in the application itself.- Policies and procedures: Writing policies and procedures for the company that reflect the real state of affairs, as well as maintaining and verifying these policies and procedures.- IT helpdesk: Helping users with technical problems. Also, many of my very first certifications, such as CompTia Security+, and many other courses that improved my cybersecurity skills, were completed and certified while working at Knowde and with their help, for which I am eternally grateful.
