The Partnership for Environment and Disaster Risk Reduction (PEDRR) is a global alliance of UN agencies, NGOs, and specialist institutes. The PEDRR Secretariat is hosted at the Crisis Management Branch (CMB) of the United Nations Environment Program. The following list summarizes some of my key responsibilities: • Developing communications and outreach strategies for PEDRR to promote and upscale Ecosystem-based Disaster Risk Reduction (Eco-DRR) at global, national, and regional levels.• Developing content to raise public and private sector awareness and helping mainstream Eco-DRR as part of institutional practices and programmes.• Coordinating the development of a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Nature-based Solutions for Disaster and Climate Resilience in 8 languages: English, French, Chinese (Mandarin), Spanish, Arabic, Hindi, Brazilian-Portuguese, and Indonesian. The MOOC has reached over 80,000+ enrollments from 190+ countries.

• Supported the Crisis Management Branch in enhancing communications activities and amplifying outreach efforts at both global and country levels.• Supported the coordination with translators and graphic designers for Sudan's State of theEnvironment Report (SoE) 2020 in ensuring that the quality of publication meets UNEP publicationstandard.• Supported various layout design/formatting for various communications materials including project documents, workshop materials, and event promotion materials,• Drafted content for social media, information packages to UNEP Corporate Communications Division, and supported proof-reading for website stories.

Merry Lea is a nature sanctuary providing environmental education while supporting conservation efforts in the state of Indiana, USA. The position was a research fellowship to help guide and support research and education efforts for a study abroad group of university students.• Provided support to a team of 14 university students from the United States to conduct environmental-based research in the North-Western Himalayan state of Uttarakhand, India. • The research was aimed at exploring the environmental practices around the remote regions of the Western Himalayas in comparison to environmental practices utilized in the American Mid-West. • Work consisted of researching various cross-cultural influences on sustainability practices across the state of Uttarakhand, India• Interviews were conducted in Hindi for local Sherpas while interviews were conducted in English for the study abroad university students.
