Coffee - Climate Change - Values - Burundi. I have researched how transformations toward sustainability unfold in the Burundian coffee sector based on five months of fieldwork. I found that the quality of relations defines the outcomes of change processes. Authority and fear vs collaboration and respect have very different outcomes in practice. Through this work, I have become skilled at teasing out values in emails, policies, reports, and actions, allowing me to analyze the deeper value conflicts behind thematic conflicts. By untangling value conflicts, and fostering aligning values, change can happen much faster and with less resistance. During the PhD I have also lectured, and been responsible for UTV1000, a course on Introduction to Development Studies.

Seminar teacher in SGO2500 (North South Development) and SOSGEO2301 (Environment and Society). This the favourite part of my job! I try to create a welcoming atmosphere and plan discussions that get students to question the given. Witnessing how students start seeing the world differently and how much they learn along the way is the most rewarding part of this job. Yah yah, it sounds cheesy, but its true.

Working on the Voices of the Future project, at the Department for Sociology and Human Geography. We study the values and visions of Norwegian youth on responses to climate change.Responsible for en extensive literature review, recruitment of informants and conducting interviews with engaged youth in Norway. At the moment we are working on several papers. We have presented prelimenary findings at various conferences and as TEDx talk in Trondeim.

Evaluation of Norad's NORHED program supporting North-South partnerships of higher education institutions and reserach.

As a climate ambassador, I do presentations at schools throughout Norway. I inform young people about climate change, try to motivate them to see climate change as something that affects everyone, including themselves. The intention is to inspire them to believe that young people matter, that they have great ideas and that they can influence the future by actively engaging in society in various ways.

Substitute teacher for grade 1-7. This has given me valuable practical experience of communicating with, and engaging children and youth in their everyday life.

Was part of the team responsible for organising the global youth conference (COY7) for 500 youth from across the globe, prior to UNFCC's Conference of the Parties 17, (COP17) in December 2011.I was responsible for the establishment of and the following up of three local working groups; logistics, program and funding. We cooperated closely with the international team.
