I am a career educator with experiences in private, public, and higher education institutions. I relentlessly pursue ways to enhance student outcomes through a combination of research-based practices and intuitive decision making to optimally meet students' needs. I have spent most of my career teaching in an Autistic and Emotional Support setting, gaining extensive experience in specially designed behavioral, social, and emotional instruction. My continual use of professional reflection, creative problem solving, and stubborn patience enables me to propel students to exceptional outcomes. In addition to being a special educator, I am also a professional percussionist with extensive experience in marching, Scottish, and classical percussion. As a Scottish rudimental snare drummer, I have been named United States, Canadian, and North American Champion, as well as a semifinalist at the World Solo Drumming Championship. I have been able to fuse my percussion and education backgrounds to instruct at the university level, enabling university students to achieve high levels of success in competitive percussion.
