I am the Flight Controller and Fluid systems Responsible Engineer for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s and Rocket Development Lab’s third liquid flight vehicle. The responsibilities of these roles includes designing, building, testing, and validating all individual hardware components for the fluids handling systems in, on, and supporting the flight vehicle. My responsibilities also include the coordination and execution of every test day, as well as communicating the results and next steps with the team and professors.

• Conducting multiple successful injector sequencing campaigns• Responsible for safety of all test cell technicians and all actions taken from pre-test to post-test• Rebuilding and cleaning test cell liquid oxygen and fuel main propellent lines• Familiarity of test cell instrumentation, control, and data acquisition at a high level• Experience with liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, ethanol, and 6,000 psi gaseous nitrogen• Diagnosing damaged PXIe control card, valve talkback hardware, low leak rate seals, and control wires

• Leading development of first and second single element co-axial swirl injectors at Embry-Riddle• Designing an Ethanol-LOX engine producing 200 lbf at 300 psia chamber pressure• Creating CAD models and drawings for traditional and additive injector manufacturing• Building Excel coaxial element design calculator to solve base injector performance parameters• Performing steady state analysis using Bernoulli and continuity equations

• Designing feed system for a kerosene-LOX launch vehicle including P&IDs and fitting layouts• Creating and modifying Excel calculators for ullage gas and COPV sizing in pressure fed feed system• Planning 18 second burn time producing 2,000 lbf reaching over 40,000 ft

• Managing Rocket Development Lab live streams and videos for over 31,000 viewers• Implementing SDI, ethernet, RS485, USB-C, and XLR live streaming systems• Purchased over $6,000 in live streaming equipment including four cameras and 1,500 ft of SDI cabling

• Developing P&IDs and component layouts with Visio for liquid nitrous oxide test stand feed systems• Writing procedures and Excel calculators for evaluating nitrous oxide decomposition risk• Conducting flow and pressure analysis in Excel for propellant loading, venting, and standard operation• Sizing ullage gas system for allowable tank start & end pressure given propellant & regulator flow rates• Sizing feed system components for pressurant supply and cryogenic oxygen-rich environments• Creating bill of materials for feed system upgrades and structural components
