In my Master's thesis I studied cost-effectiveness in wound care and how it shapes the requirements of health economic evidence generation for wound care products in the future. The sphere of research was closely linked to healthcare decision-making and public procurement. I systematically investigated wound care in the context of healthcare decision-making and public procurement, interviewed stakeholders, constructed a decision-analytic model for cost-effectiveness analysis of UPM wound dressing FibDex, examined the results in comparison to most important competitors in the market and derived company specific recommendations for future action points. My research produced valuable insights that are specific to the company's position and capabilities in a highly competitive market.

Chair of the board responsible for directing the work of 9 full-time board members and overseeing the daily operations and decision making of a student union with 15,000+ members, 40+ employees, 2500 student apartments, ~15M€ yearly group budget, 45M€ investment portfolio and 160M€ in assets. Independently recruited the board and participated in several other recruitments, planned and held 150+ meetings, led strategic development in a management team with 9 members. Managed key stakeholder relationships including university leadership, city of Espoo and the honorary council.Coordinated AYY's negotiations for the student center, a multi-layered real estate investment of 8M€. Orchestrated key negotiation wins, impacted the complex decision making process, collaborated with legal and real estate experts, predicted the risk profile of the investment, prioritized resources and delegated tasks to key people in order to secure the deal.Strengthened how a new strategy is taken into practice by reorganizing the process of creating a yearly plan of action. Coordinated all related process steps and facilitated the involvement of management, teams, and decision-making bodies.Led the covid-19 actions of the student union by developing the internal covid response chain, evaluating the pandemic situation regularly and coordinating the changes and communication that guide the student community of 15,000 members. Assessed the risk profile of re-opening rental facilities for events, advocated for students towards the university leadership as well as the ministry of education (OKM).Prioritized the wellbeing and growth of my team and supported them in reaching their individual goals. Planned and executed a thorough on-boarding. Strengthened the teamwork by organising monthly work guidance and mentoring, providing 1-on-1 feedback sessions and organising retrospectives. Planned and scheduled the boards weekly sessions to support my teams ability to plan and lead their own work

I was an executive board member and vice chair of the board of Aalto University Student Union AYY. The board oversees the daily operations of the student union which has more than 14,000 members - our core operations are advocacy, services and community. As vice chair my job was to support the chair in his work, support the wellbeing and group dynamics of the 10 member board. This role was highlighted due to covid-19 affecting the daily work of our team. I responded to the needs of the team by planning and facilitating new ways of work such as team 1-on-1s, meeting free Fridays, remote recreations, retrospectives and debrief sessions. I learned key skills in managing my own time and ways of working that bring the most value to the organization, finding ways to support and steer motivation of my team members, the value of prioritization to get things done and especially giving and receiving feedback. I had an especially good team with the chair, and I received excellent feedback for my ability to reflect and respond quickly to challenges. I learned a lot about leadership, resolving conflicts and what it takes to build a successful team. My areas of responsibility also included student media and educational policy. For student media I lead an extensive project aimed at finding a resolution to whether or not the student union should have a student media - a multifaceted question which connects to the finances, resources and culture of the organisation. I worked in co-operation with a media consultancy agency as well as a 45-member representative council to prepare for decision making. I recieved a lot of good feedback for a successful project management which in the end resulted in the council being able to make a well-informed decision with a financial impact of 40-75k€.

I worked with high acuity patient monitoring solutions (ICU, anesthesia and operating room monitoring) in the Nordic Healthcare Digital team. I supported in first level incident and service request handling providing technical support for customer sites in Finland and Sweden. I communicated daily with healthcare experts in the hospitals, learning to understand their needs and helped solve their support cases. I configured customer systems and provided program system updates to the digital healthcare solutions. I learned valuable lessons in how patient monitoring systems are configured and developed and what the patient care process is like in ICUs and operating theatres.

I was responsible for drafting project tenders, created a new employment contract template, helped to design and upkeep the office quality system, updated website, organizing office trips and excursions. Thrived in a position and field of business that was initially completely new to me. I was willing to leave my comfort zone and learn new, always a self-starter in a hectic environment.
