A med-surg/ED nurse by trade I am one of many nurses in a rural environment that got thrown into the health IT world. When I say “world” I use that as a loose term. I consider it more as an alternate universe filled with people with their own language with words like terabyte and interface, that has literally taken me years to decipher. However, with a real life crash course in Informatics I stand today as an early MU Attester, clinical software adviser, a clinical google group founder/administrator, and a respected Informatics resource among my peers. To those outside of our field this would seem unimportant, but to those who can sympathize you realize I am still waiting for my medal to come in the mail.On a personal level, I am a youth pastor who shepherds a flock of 35 teenagers. I published my first Christian devotional in 2018 and hope to publish my second in 2021.
