Partner at A&L Goodbody, specialising in the areas of environmental, planning and health & safety law, as well as commercial litigation, with an emphasis on professional negligence. I previously worked as an environmental consultant and as a result have over 25 year's experience in the environmental and planning field. I have extensive experience in the areas of (i) renewable energy, with a particular focus on Environmental Impact Assessment and Appropriate Assessment, (ii) IE/IPC activities, and (iii) waste, including contaminated land assessment, monitoring and remediation.I advise on a wide range of issues including the assessment of environmental risk, defending prosecutions, regulatory and compliance issues (including REACH), environmental due diligence, the preparation and review of environmental warranties, negotiating indemnities and disclosures. I also advise IPC/IE and waste licensed activities, with a particular focus on issues surrounding financial provision for environmental liabilities, and compliance with, and the transfer and surrender of licences.I also specialise in planning law matters including appeals, oral hearings, compulsory purchase orders, judicial review and injunctive proceedings.The A&L Goodbody Environment and Planning Law Group provides legal advice to businesses on environmental, planning and health and safety issues.
