Shared responsibility among my teammates in designing, implementing, and maintaining a server/software infrastructure allowing the company to print books on demand globally.Developed and currently own and maintain software and hardware designed to store millions of digital titles that are synchronized to multiple global locations. Project utilizes hardware SAS RAID, CentOS Linux, XFS, Perl, Perlbrew, Dancer (perl), Starman (perl), Apache, JQuery, MySQL, Aspera, and MongoDB. Helped implement Puppet throughout the enterprise and wrote several custom modules in order to support several in-house applications. This was used in conjunction with Icinga (formerly Nagios) to provide uniform monitoring throughout the company.

Managed a team of software engineers to develop and support a turnkey Asterisk based PBX (VoIP phone system) that was used by approximately 80+ customers in and around the southeastern United States.Product was built on Linux, Perl, Apache, Asterisk, MySQL, and used CGI::Application as its framework.Support issues included integrating the PBX into various customer networks and understanding their business in order to configure the system to meet their needs. This involved occasionally getting involved in their routers and/or firewalls, as well as helping them troubleshoot issues within their own networks.

As a security engineer, I developed a reporting tool that aggregated data from several different systems within the company in order to provide an overview of the vulnerable software systems within the entire HCA network. This included pulling data from Foundstone, Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Sourcefire and a custom in-house scanning tool written .NET (C#). Once the data was aggregated, remote facilities were "scored" based on their security status.Also spent a lot of time analyzing and checking network traffic (tcpdump, snort, Sourcefire) in order to protect the network from computer viruses, hackers, and inappropriate employee conduct.

Wrote several custom reporting applications using PHP, PearDB, Smarty, and PostgreSQL on Debian Linux servers.Other responsibilities included maintaining existing code projects as well as code peer review.

Maintained 100+ local and 200+ remote employee desktops and network. Administered Citrix Metaframe Farm serving applications to 14 remote locations. Served applications included Microsoft office and Navision Financials which I also did minor development for in C/SIDE.Other responsibilities included Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory administration, as well as manager of Desktop Support.
