Upon graduating from UCSB, I moved to the east coast where I lived and worked in downtown Boston. My primary job was for a comedy sketch and improv theater where I worked backstage as a stage manager, as well as in their corporate office assisting the VP and acting as their Training Center's administrator. After a stint backstage in the costume department of Cirque du Soleil, I returned to California and launched Mimi & Lu in 2007. Our design studio opened in downtown San Diego, where all of the jewelry was produced by hand by our production team. In 2012, I was selected as a finalist in Fashion Group International's Rising Star Awards in NYC. Mimi and Lu has been spotted on celebrities, seen in magazines and on television shows such as Days of our Lives and the Real Housewives. We have sold jewelry to thousands of clients and over 300 stores locally, nationally and internationally. The name Mimi and Lu comes from the first two initials of my name, my husband's name and our late great dane's name, Lucca. In 2018, I founded Dream Driven, an event driven platform that not only connects local business owners but provides a space for entrepreneurs to guide one another towards their goals. I produced events for 30-50 people, sourcing donated venues, food, gift bag swag and staff. Managing everything from ticket sales, to table assignment to the actual event, Dream Driven was truly born out of a passion to help other business owners navigate the ups and downs of being their own boss. In 2021, we used the remote work/school friendly times to travel across the country back to Boston where we currently reside. I decided to move forward with Mimi & Lu solo, adding DIY kits, Raw inventory sales and online courses. When not at my desk twisting wires, you can find me with a coffee in one hand and the other playing catch with my 9 year old son, who completed 3.5 years of Leukemia treatment at the end of 2020.
