The mission of Erase the Space is to connect students, teachers, and communities in a collaborative, non-competitive exchange over the course of a school year. By engaging young people in exchanges early in their school careers, we believe students will be better prepared to take on the most pressing social challenges and issues facing our city and nation with empathy and collaboration. As a volunteer, I work closely with the local co-founder of the group, and a few other volunteers, to help plan and facilitate classroom exchanges, expand our network and participate in a variety of workshops, trainings and classes.

Living out my passions in retirement. I describe my life at home as a 'Montessori school for one.' I volunteer, write, connect, participate, opt in, opt out, say yes, say no, attend, tour, learn, study, read, research, collaborate....I am always learning, always growing and often taking time to be quiet with calm music and peaceful scents surrounding me.

During my 30 years of teaching in a small suburban school district in Central Ohio I taught elementary (grades 1-3) for 25 years and 7th and 8th grade social studies at Bexley Middle School. While teaching I also served as the district International/Multicultural Professional Development Coordinator for four years and was the local union president for 11 years.
