As a passionate student success educator, I relish creating connections with students to help them feel they matter, the value of engagement, the importance of belonging, and thriving throughout life. I am committed to developing excellence through learning opportunities for myself and others. Through creativity and innovation, learning and life can be fun and memorable. My skill set has been honed through many life experiences.-Recently hired as a Career Coach in Experiential Learning and Career Success at the University of Montana. Looking forward to engaging with students to explore career options, enhance their skills, and embark in a career path of their design.-Served as a GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) Manager at the University of Montana. I developed the program from scratch, starting with branding, and built relationships with GEAR UP high school liaisons and students. Created and implemented several programs to help students transition into higher education: dual enrollment course, academic improvement workshop, presentations in high schools, and Game of College Life.-While at Southern Virginia University, I had the amazing opportunity to be an adjunct professor for three years, teaching a variety of topics to educate students.>Liberal Arts course focused on enhancing learning strategies for students on provisional status. >Public Speaking course patterned after Toastmasters International Speaking Club to encourage regular practice and skill development.>As an Academic Advisor, I taught a course that helps students learn beneficial academic skills, as well as helped students design academic plans. >Jogging and clogging were activity classes that I instructed to help students discover there are a variety of activities to maintain a healthy lifestyle.-Success coach for three years at Montana State University, equipped students with strategies and resources to retain and attain within the higher education setting.-In two years, I earned a master's degree in higher education with an emphasis on student success from Walden University. I maintained a high GPA while working and managing a household. -Being a mom. I have four children and have learned through trial and error how to motivate, guide, and achieve individual success. The skills required for motherhood are lengthy but humbling.
