The Trust business is very simple but chairing a board of 7 publicly elected Trustees who have ownership on behalf of the community of a $600 million community infrastructure company does bring certain critical skills to the fore.Success has come from allowing open and constructive but robust discussion around the table, with a focus on moving matters forward but at a speed that delivers consensus most of the time. I work with the GM to agree the agenda's for the Board meetings and submit reports to the meetings as appropriate. Specific competencies relate to dealing with the media and political influences as the organisations spokesperson. A high level of integrity is critical in the role due to the public interest in the role and Trust. I have been instrumental in implementing a number of financial structures that being financially literate has been critical to ensure the outcomes deliver on the intent.
