About Mini K.
I am a development practitioner turned researcher. Having done my Ph.D. in policy studies (IITD), post-graduation in environmental studies (TNAU), and graduation in agricultural sciences (KAU), my career goals are in conducting research and teaching courses linking both Sciences and Social Sciences. My research interests include organic farming, sustainability, aid policy, development interventions, participation and empowerment, gender studies, agricultural policy, climate change, development studies and the anthropology of the state. Professionally, for being part of an EU aided rural development intervention for more than a decade, I am trained in Programme Planning and Implementation, developing SHGs, Participatory Technology Development, establishing Farmer Producing Companies, Women Empowerment, Farmer Credit and Crop Insurance, and Training and Capacity Building. As I served as the Associate Editor of a journal, I have experience in content writing, editing and publishing also. My professional interest is engaging with policy arena in rural development sector and bringing about positive changes through meaningful collaboration between the government, academia, and development practitioners.I had cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by ICAR. I worked with the research supervisor as a Teaching Assistant for five years to develop course contents, prepare reading materials, design tutorials and course evaluation methods, coordinate exams and assist in evaluating eight courses on development and policy studies offered for UG students at IIT Delhi. I worked for 12 years in various capacities with the Vegetable and Fruit Promotion Council Keralam (VFPCK), and its predecessor, Kerala Horticulture Development Programme (KHDP), a joint venture of the European Union and the Government of India.
