Masters in English Literature, followed by a second Masters in Counselling psychology (TISS, Mumbai - silver medal) and completed my PhD in Social Sciences (Department of Psychology, TISS, Mumbai), I have been practicing psychological counselling for the last 10+ years. I work with clients in their late adolescence onwards. I bring a systemic, trauma informed, existential, humanistic lens to the therapy space, and also lean heavily into being mindful and informed of the wisdom of the body in the healing process.Within the therapeutic space, my effort is to facilitate a safe, stable and caring relationship with my clients. My approach is exploratory in nature, and I work from the framework that our lives reflect an internal narrative, influenced by the context, culture and families we grew up in. Our realities are constantly in a state of flux. Therapy aims to encourage the client's capacity for fluidity. Life experiences are often challenging, and how we meet these challenges play a part in deciding how much suffering we experience. Learning to recognise habitual ways of being, making space for experiences, being with certain aspects of reality and working on that which may be amenable to change - these are complex pathways that are navigated courageously by many of my clients. I consider it an honour to be a part of their journeys. As a part of the ongoing skill building that is essential for therapists, I have completed courses in Internal Family Systems (Level 1), Buddhist Psychology, Presence Practices, Trauma Informed care and EMDR (Level 1).
