In my role as a Senior Lecturer in Hospitality Management I teach subjects centred around three key themes: ethical and sustainable leadership; gastronomy and food culture; social media and digital marketing. With an Undergraduate degree in Culinary Arts Management, a Masters degree in Food Business Management, and years of working with food and hospitality businesses, I bring both industry know-how and academic rigour into the classroom, empowering students to develop as future professionals.I am currently working towards completing my PhD thesis titled "Gastronomic Acculturation of Romanian Immigrants in England". My research explores the ways in which food serves as a medium for cultural negotiation, identity formation, and social integration - particularly through the lens of migration. I am also passionate about understanding how media, consumer culture and societal expectations shape our food choice, preferences and practices. I investigate contemporary narratives related to culinary traditions, authenticity and ethnic diversity, and the way in which these narratives reflect broader societal and cultural dynamics. My work seeks to engage with critical discussions around food and gastronomy at the intersection of culture, society, media, migration and gender identity. I am always open to engaging in collaborative research and critical dialogue in these areas.
