I am a first-generation, low-income college graduate from Stanford University with a B.A. in English and a minor degree in education. I recently finished the Stanford Teacher Education Program (STEP), where I received a Masters in Education as well as a California Teaching Credential. Starting Fall 2024, I will continue my journey at Stanford for the third time to finish up my Masters in English. I look forward to deepening my understanding of literature in order to contribute to both the high school classroom and broader academic discourse. I am passionate about the intersection of English and accessible education and believe the combination is a powerful tool to uplift marginalized voices in the classroom. With the lens I bring of diverse education policy, intersectional feminism, and student support, I plan to reimagine larger systems and foster a safe community where young students feel inspired to take up space by asking, analyzing, and applying.I am also invested in the politics of English and creative writing and seek to continue exploring the intersectionality of race, class, and gender in contemporary literature. Creative writing has the capacity to transform and radicalize spaces through raw expression of identity, and I am eager to find opportunities in that realm as well.
