I assist with communications, social media, and web development in the communications office at the Quinney College of Natural Resources.

As a technical editor, I performed quality control on documents before they were sent out to clients. I helped format and proofread reports and proposals. I also updated project cutsheets, employee resumes, and other marketing materials. I also serve as the IT specialist for BIO-WEST's Logan Office. I help set up and maintain the office computers as well as keep technical operations running smoothly. Whenever a computer is on the fritz and isn't working correctly, I'm the one to get things back up and running.

I became the Student Life content manager at the Utah Statesman in August 2017. I'm in charge of scheduling article deadlines and publishing content to the Utah Statesman's website and social media outlets in a timely manner. I also teach new writers AP style, interviewing skills, and other media related techniques.

As copy editor at the Utah Statesman, I worked with writers to create content for the features vertical. I edited articles and other media content, taught AP style writing techniques to the writers within my section, managed weekly meetings, helped design content layout for print editions using Adobe InDesign, and published articles to the Utah Statesman website.

As a writer for the features section, my duties include writing in-depth articles about interesting topics, features about students, events and other interesting aspects of campus and the surrounding community.

As a greenhouse lab assistant, I worked in a range lab studying legumes and natural Utah native plants to use in wild-land areas to help minimize the impact of fire on ecosystems. The plants I worked with were Utah Lotus, in the Fabaceae family. For the fall season, I collected seeds, as well as sorted and counted stems. I also ground plant samples and tested them for lignin, a material in plants used to strengthen plant tissues. In the spring, I grew plants from seedlings, assisted in planting them and later, collected the seeds. During the summer, I helped with a soil lab, collecting and analyzing samples for mineral content.

I was a summer substitute teacher working primarily with children ages 8 weeks to 5 years. My duties included watching over classes of 15-20 young children at a time, providing entertainment and instruction to my class, and offering relief to other teachers in need of a substitute.
