I'm the founder and publisher of Do Books, an independent publishing company launched in 2013 in association with The DO Lectures. Our concise guides help creative entrepreneurs, makers and Doers work smarter and create positive change. Written by experts whose stories and ideas have inspired others to go and Do, the collection spans business, design, wellbeing and sustainable living with each title focusing on the ‘doing’ rather than the background theory. Do Books have featured widely in the media and are distributed across the UK and Europe, North America and Australia through online and physical bookstores, as well as ebook and audiobook retailers. We've been finalists for industry awards: Best Brand/Series Identity category of the British Book Design and Production Awards 2014; The Event category of the FutureBook Awards 2022; the Marketing category of the IPG Awards 2023; Regional Finalist for Small Press of the Year of The British Book Awards 2024; and Best Short Book at the Business Book Awards 2023 - winner! In 2022, the DO Group partnered with Sage Global to produce Member Masterclass - a series of human-centered expert-led videos providing actionable advice and inspiration to their community of 3+ million SMEs. I was responsible for producing these short films working with Sage, the DO Lectures and award-winning film production companies in the UK and US. During our partnership, we delivered content across five themed seasons. Prior to setting up and running Do Books, I spent over two decades working in the publishing industry with editorial positions held at Routledge, Creation Books, André Deutsch, and most recently, Penguin Random House as senior commissioning editor of Vermilion and editorial director of Ebury Press — working on numerous Sunday Times bestsellers. In 2014, I was fortunate to be listed as one of the UK's Top 10 Creative Entrepreneurs on the British Council hClub 100 list. I've spoken at FutureBook, The Independent Publishers' Guild Conference, The DO Lectures and Decca Records. I live and work in East London.
