Seeking a position of High School Chemistry Teacher or Curriculum Developer. I have had the pleasure of working for the New York Department of Education for many years. I participated as a contributing author of the current Science Scope and Sequence for Chemistry. My work since includes STEM writing to create a STEM implementation handbook for school leaders and NYSSLS curriculum review. I am dually licensed in Chemistry and Biology. I co-developed a course in Honors Anatomical Illustration for art credit, in conjunction with Creative Art Works, which has since been fully implemented in my school at my school.As a teacher in my building, I have had the great fortune to work with other teachers in developing curriculum to improve literacy in Anatomy and Physiology, Chemistry and Living Environment. In cooperation with the Office of School Programs and Partnerships, I assisted Ingrid Buntschuh, head of the New York City Department of Education Office of High School Science, instructing other educators during the summer as part of the Summer Science Institute and have worked with her office as a member of the Science Leadership team.My formal education includes a Master degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Doctorate in Natural Health. Informal education via professional development in Growth Mindset, Danielson, UDL, differentiation of instruction, use of technology in the classroom (Promethean), Olweus Bullying Prevention, the Schools Attuned program and the Modern Classroom Project has provided additional information and methodologies for success. I have served as the Science Department Chair in Colorado, Science Instructional Specialist in Texas and as a member of New Utrecht’s Professional Development Inquiry Team. In all of these I have proven myself to be an excellent communicator and listener who works well with other educators and administration for the benefit of students. I believe that my experience has shown me to be a resource in areas of instruction and incorporation of technology in instruction and a conscientious team player.
