Jakarta, Cebu City, Yangon And The Hague

I wrote my MSc Thesis in collaboration with Cordaid on Urban Resilience. In this thesis, I looked at how the approach of Cordaid on Urban Resilience is being applied in practice in three different cities in Asia: Jakarta, Cebu City and Yangon. For this thesis, I conducted qualitative fieldwork for three months, one month in each city, attending local meetings, visiting the urban resilience projects and conducting interviews.

The Hague

Supported the Resilient The Hague in the process of writing their Resilience Strategy. This included attending several meeting with both internal (Municipal) stakeholders and external stakeholders (such as the Netherlands Red Cross). Furthermore, I looked into the strategies of other cities from the 100 Resilient Cities network and look into similarities between their strategy and ours. For the final strategy document, see the attachment.

The team was responsible for the surveillance of the parking garages of BKS in Scheveningen. Each car in the four parking garages were checked for valuable belongings and open doors and windows.
