Too many creators (especially women) are leaving money on the table because they cannot get to all their unfinished projects.I find the money you are leaving on the table and fix it.Aka...I use data to determine which unfinished project, if finished, would impact your bottom line the most. Then, I create a detailed action plan, implement processes, and manage a skilled team of doers to execute everything effectively. Then, we rinse and repeat until all the projects are finished, and you can start dreaming again. Then the fun part starts because that team of doers can now spend time implementing all your new dreams.

Business OwnerDesigned For Goodness Sep 2018 - PresentUnited StatesThe mission of Designed For Goodness is to help creators build a business that brings goodness into their lives and into the world. I initially focused on website design that made the customer the center of the story (I love Donald Miller). However, I found my true passion was in using tech to exceed the expectations of customers in automated ways. So I shifted my focus to teaching course creators how to use data to predict their student’s needs so they can build automated, custom experiences that cater to those needs at precisely the right time. I love how doing this brings power and authenticity to the 2nd half of the customer life cycle.Notable:I've helped 50+ creators get their businesses off the ground by creating websites and/or courses.I've found unconventional ways to use the software I love (mainly ConvertKit, Accessally, Wordpress+Elementor, and Zapier) to reach my and my client's goals. Finding workarounds for perceived limitations in a tech tool is a favorite challenge of mine.My 2 courses have an 80% completion rate (the industry average is 3-6%, according to Research Gate). No one has ever asked me or any of my clients for a refund, even though I, and most of them, have a very open refund policy.I've held 3 successful live events that were focused on training creators (or their assistants) on tech tools so they could move past that roadblock in their business.

Business OwnerSimple Family Preparedness Nov 2010 - Feb 2018Utah, United StatesI built a business blogging about emergency preparedness on WordPress using affiliate marketing, ebooks, and, eventually, a digital course. Most of my traffic came from Pinterest and Google via a handful of articles optimized for SEO. Built an email list of over 10,000 subscribers and maintained an open rate of over 50% and a click-thru rate of 7-10% by serving instead of selling and putting people over profits.Self-taught myself to use WordPress, Divi, Woocommerce, Accessally, Canva, Google Workspace, and more.Trained and managed two part-time virtual assistants.

Consultant And Board MemberThrive Life Nov 2010 - Feb 2018Utah, United StatesIn under a year, I became one of their top 10 consultants and stayed in the top 15 for the seven years I worked with them. After one year with the company, I was asked to join the consultant board. I represented the consultants within the organization to ensure their needs were met and that they found value in being consultants for Thrive Life.I influenced decisions about company direction, product choice and design, consultant commission plan, shipping practices, and more.I remotely trained and encouraged a large team of consultants across the U.S. Their performance is part of what kept me on the list of the top 15 consultants.I spoke and taught at all Thrive Life conventions that were held while I was withthe company.I ran a successful Google ads campaign for a highly profitable Thrive Life product from late 2011 - early 2018. -
Business OwnerFrugalicious Sep 2008 - Nov 2010San Diego, California, United StatesThis business started as a way to save money on groceries after I had twins while my husband was in law school. I wrote a program using an Excel spreadsheet that tracked the grocery prices of 6 different grocery stores. This allowed me always to know when a product was on sale for its lowest price so I could stock up. Each week, I'd only purchase fresh dairy, produce, and whatever was on sale for its lowest price. This allowed us to keep our grocery bill below $400 / mo for several years. In the end, the business was unsuccessful as I didn't yet have the marketing skills necessary. But it was an incredible learning experience.Notable:I gained a deep understanding of ExcelI hired local women as contractors to help me enter the data into the program each week (they were "paid" with free access to the spreadsheet results each week). This sparked my passion for helping women to earn money from home.I created a Blogspot blog and taught myself how to edit existing HTML and CSS so I could customize it.

Dental Office ManagerDr Ryan Workman Dds Sep 2005 - Jul 2007Salt Lake City, Utah, United StatesI worked as the office manager for a dental office. I was specifically hired to increase their income. I did this in 4 ways: 1). I used my extensive knowledge of how dental billing worked and how the dental software used in the office worked to know with nearly 100% accuracy what the patient's portion of their treatment would be before the insurance had actually paid. This allowed us to collect their payment in full before treatment and before insurance had paid (this is not how most dental offices run) and meant we spent very little time chasing down unpaid bills.2). I used active listening skills, empathy, and kind candor to convince more patients to seek the treatment they needed.3). I used the dental software to not only keep track of patient's needs but unique things about them and their family. We could follow up each time they returned so they felt important and seen every time they entered our office.4). Along with Dr Workman, we started a "New Smile in a Day" service where we were able to complete a set of Veneers for people without having to send anything to a lab by using a new technology called a Cerec machine. No one else was doing this, and it brought us a lot of business.Notable:Increased income by 15%-25%I left this job to follow my husband to law school in California and stay at home with our soon-to-be-born twins.
