At BARR I started as employee #1 setting up a ragtag team of auditors, consultants, and professionals that has now grown to over 70 employees and a book of clients spanning industries including finance, technology, healtchare, government, and more. I also developed a team of cybersecurity consultants that specialize in helping startups and SMBs take the pain out of cybersecurity and compliance programs. We helped implement cybersecurity programs that not only achieve business, regulatory, and customer requirements, but turn those requirements and roadblocks into competitive advantages.

Managed and executed IT audit and consulting engagements to support our financial audit teams and clients ensure they're in compliance with best practices for IT systems and achieve regulatory requirements such as SOX, SOC 1 and 2, and more.

Consistently achieved sales goals and targets not only for my personal goals and requirements, but for the entire agency as a whole. Learned the processing systems of about 10 different insurance companies; e.g., how to quote, service, and update property and casualty isurance policies.

Analyzed corporate bond holdings and gave recommendations on whether to buy, sell, or hold. Gained skills in Bloomberg, Microsoft Excel, as well as basic presentation skills. Also learned how to apply an effective economic, financial, and managerial analysis of buisnesses and how to translate that data into a written report and presentation.

Constructed a project to improve the financial reporting processes of the Medical Financie Division at MTC. Also analyzed data over the past 5 years for certain trends and extra expenses in order to find a way to target these extra expenses and eliminate or reduce them. Also learned a great deal of inormation of how the prison system works as well as Job Corps.

Led a team of salespeople to acquire new business and grow the agency to a book of over $2,000,000 in annual premium. Consistently achieved personl and agency sales goals for a period of 18 months. Also learned a great deal about customer service; e.g., how to resolve customer complaints, how to work in a timely and efficient manner, as well as many great communication skills. Worked 30 hours a week while attending school full-time and maintaining a 3.6 GPA.
