During my internship at Paladin Security I was able to enhance a variety of Human Resource skills. I was able to over see the recruitment process for Hamilton and the Niagara region from start to finish. This also entailed using HRIS and ATS. I also had the privilege to attended various hiring events in which Paladin set out to hire as many candidates as possible. My role was to screen and interview all applicants and offered roles to successful hires as well place then into weekly online training and in person training to ensure all applicants receive the proper training to be successful upon there deployment to contacted sites.

As a student representative, I toured new and potential students around the college to help them navigate through finding a program and school of interest. While touring, it’s essential to have knowledge and understanding of various features and facilities offered at the college. I ensure to represent myself and Niagara college in a professional manner and bring enthusiasm and optimism to every shift.

As a fitness attendant, it wad crucial to follow Niagara Colleges protocols and go above and beyond for others. With the Covid-19 impact, we ensured to maintain health and safety standards by following Covid-19 protocols. I also ensured to interact with students who entered the gym to give them a good experience while attending the college.

At Mainstream Gateway I worked with a great Human Resources team which started my HR career in this position I had the opportunity to learn how to use HRIS systems which taught me how to keep track of employees personal documents, data entry and workforce management. This resulted in ensuring each employee file was up to date and on track with company expectations. During my internship I was able to attend meetings and union negotiations by taking meeting minutes and highlighting important topics. I also had the opportunity to work closely with the Human Resources Director on revising company and health and safety policies to ensure they were up to date with government regulations.
