Current Operations Manager at Los Alamos National Laboratory. I recently transitioned out of the US Army and into this position. I graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point as an Armor Officer. After completing Armor School I stepped into the role of Troop Executive Officer for K Troop 2-16 CAV. While in this position, I demonstrated my abilities as a self-start, leader, and effective communicator. I handled the day-to-day operations, training scheduling, reception, and departing of every Armor Lieutenant beginning their career for the year in this role. At times this included up to 700 personnel, of which I held the same rank. Any authority I had was derived directly from mutual respect as well as reputation. While at the Academy, I studied Economics with an emphasis in Finance. I thoroughly enjoyed my finance classes - particularly the concept of learning to see and find value in the world. I was also privileged to take multiple Robotics and Electrical Engineering course, of which I found extremely worthwhile. Working through the engineering process and mindset was incredibly rewarding work. As a cadet I experienced direct leadership from the individual level up to large scale staffing.Prior to attending the Academy, I was an Airborne Infantryman at Fort Richardson, AK. During my time there I took initiative to lead and train the other privates with me in physical training, mortar tasks and drills, as well as maintenance. Prior to joining the Army, I worked as a Shift Manager for Holiday Oil. This job served as an incredible opportunity to learn not only leadership fundamentals, but also business principles at the point of action/sale. It was here I first learned that value comes from more than just the product in the customer's hand, but from the entirety of the business contributing to that reality for the customer.
