I currently work as a Lead Area Administrator for music education charity, Kent Music, currently covering the administration and customer service tasks of the Canterbury, Thanet, Dover and Medway regions, as well as taking on the duty of assigning processes and all administration for ensemble groups for our general music centres across the entirety of Kent. My role includes working as a first point of contact via telephone, email and face to face means for students, parents/guardians, schools and organisations that make use of the company's services supplying individual classes and ensembles to schools and Music Centres. I am also responsible for tasks for regular meetings which include planning of agendas, note taking and organisation of completed, undergoing and upcoming tasks and their deadlines. My role also includes the use of a mixture of SpeedAdmin and Microsoft office systems for multiple tasks including general administrative procedures, internal and external communications, organisation of teacher schedules (and and changes that need to be made to them), processing of new students from application through to organisation of tuition and general financial tasks such as invoicing, application of deductions and changing of fees owed and daily reconciliation of payments made.

I previously ran, edited and wrote for my own online music magazine, In Key Magazine. This saw me writing reviews, opinion pieces, news and interviews. As well as contributing to the magazine's output, I also oversaw a team of contributors, personally checking, editing and publishing each piece of work contributed to the site.

In my time at Nationwide Building Society, I acted as a Member Representative (previously titled as a Customer Representative). My role included working as a cashier, answering customer queries (both in person and via the phone), making referrals/booking appointments to other members of staff as appropriate, reviewing, opening and transferring savings accounts (including various instant access savings accounts and ISA's) and ensuring that members of Nationwide were made aware of our full product range and how they could be of benefit to them. I was also tasked with championing the use of the online banking systems via computer and mobile devices with members. As well as this, I completed a six month secondment assisting the telephone and internet banking sector of the business, further developing my skills within non-member facing security checks and communications and my use of technology to complete my role requirements.

I presented and produced my own weekly radio show featuring a wide range of music catering to varied interests where I had to communicate my desires and wishes with various members of the station which assisted with the development of my communication skills and my ability to be flexible. This also featured live performances, guest hosts and interviews with a wide variety of musicians who I had to provide a service to in order to keep them happy and comfortable during their time with me.

During my time at HMV I managed the merchandising, gaming, technology and apparel sections of the store, ensuring the layout is customer friendly. It was also my responsibility to ensure that the music within the store was current and customer friendly. As well as ensuring I had an up to date knowledge of trends and products, I was required to have a knowledge of our sales goals as a branch and sell our membership cards to customers to hit a daily target, which I would regularly exceed by large margins.

I previously worked for popular online Music Magazine, Hit The Floor (and later, it's sister sight for Rock, Metal & Alternative music, 'MOSH'). Through this I carried out reviews of music (recorded and live performance), created music news posts, written opinion pieces/features and carried out interviews with acts such as Billy Talent, Dillon Francis, Sum 41, Alien Ant Farm, Orla Gartland and others. During my time with these publications, I developed my communication skills, as within this line of work, written and verbal communication is paramount.
