Security Police OfficerAs a Security Police Officer I maintain safety and protect lives, property and assets from a variety of hazards and enforce laws both federal and civil, maintain law and order, preserve the peace, and protect civil rights within the jurisdiction of NASA. Perform security checks and foot patrols through and around all buildings looking for any anomalies that may occur. Perform the full range of NASA entry controller, monitoring vehicles and pedestrians, ensuring individuals requesting access to the installation have the proper identification. Denying unauthorized access onto the facility and Law Enforcement duties; crime deterrence through patrol, issuing citations, writing incident reports and investigations. Serve as a restricted area entry controller and immediate visual assessment sentry providing surveillance for sensitive, restricted, and limited access areas. Enforce NASA policies and procedures with a firm knowledge of safety and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. Maintaining security of NASA property by providing immediate response to security breaches and alarms along with physical security. Desk Officer (Dispatch)Serve as Police Dispatcher for the entire NASA installation. I assist in supervision and management of 2 police officers assigned to the facilities, dispatch patrol officers to 911 calls, alarms, opening rooms/ buildings, conducting escorts, answering phones and 911 calls, filling out an Emergency Action Checklist (EAC) followed by an incident report, and monitoring multiple cameras and port 4 fire alarm system. Review police officer assignments and locations, adjust assignments as necessary and inform site supervisor of any incidents that occur, utilize California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System, Closed-Circuit Television, Security Forces Management Information System, and National Crime Information Center.

Police OfficerPerform the full range of Base Entry Controller duties; conducting RVI’s at main gate at random, ensuring individuals requesting access to the installation have the proper identification and/or credentials before entering. Perform the full range of duties for defending high risk protection level resources. Perform the full range of law Enforcement duties. Ability to communicate information to individuals or groups effectively, can make clear and concise oral presentations, listens to others and is an excellent public speaker. Detain violators, using force if necessary. Respond to violations, duress alarms and medical emergencies. Ability to issue out 1805 or 1408 traffic citations if necessary.
