I worked alongside the general manager of Operations and Partnerships, Debbie Howard, before, during and after the NZNBL 2023 season. Throughout my internship with the Tuatara, I carried out a variety of tasks. Many of these consisted of general operation activities such as booking away game accommodation, restaurants, Itineraries and checklists. As well as setting up, packing down and assisting continuously on game nights. I was also fortunate enough to work with the marketing manager, Dale Budge, to help develop and implement a marketing/social media plan to help boost Auckland Tuatara's social media presence. With this, I gained a lot of experience and knowledge about the sporting industry and its ever-changing market.

Working with Andu, the original creator of Hungerball was an absolute pleasure. His trust in me to organise and run event days on my own, allowed me to build both personally and professionally. I was also able to discuss with Andu the background of inventing this game as well as the general operations and marketing that go into building a sport that is so new to the sporting industry.

Throughout my placement at Total Sport, my main activities to carry out were helping marshalling two big race days at Riverhead and Waiuku. During these event days, I would assist wherever necessary, as well as set up and pack down. I was fortunate enough to observe the event day manager and discuss further how to run successful event days and all the different components that need to be considered.
