Supervise the activities of licensed and non-licensed unit operators during regular operation of a GE BWR 4 nuclear reactor. Ensure compliance is maintained in accordance with all federal and state regulations. Coordinate activities with multiple craft and support organizations to ensure site schedule adherence. Monitor and approve both scheduled and emergent work activities according to site work control and risk management policies. Responsible for oversight and command and control functions during routine, transient and emergency operations.

Responsible for monitoring control room indications and alarms. Manipulating equipment controls in accordance with plant procedures. Initiating a reactor shutdown when it is determined that the safety of the reactor is in jeopardy, or when operating parameters exceed any of the reactor protection setpoints and an automatic shutdown fails to occur. Ensure plant operation is conducted in compliance with technical and administrative procedures and regulatory requirements. Establish and maintain an adequate knowledge and understanding of normal, abnormal, and administrative procedures to permit their safe and efficient use in the operation of the station. Provide functional direction to Assistant Unit Operators and Radwaste Unit Operators.

Performed clearance tagging duties, fire brigade member, refuel floor qualified, local leak rate testing qualified, operated equipment controls, and performed equipment checks in accordance with applicable general operating procedures.

Direct supervision of approximately 25 operators and machinery. Supervise building wire plant operations and employees. Responsible for assigning work schedule and daily employee activities. Lead safety investigations. Root cause analysis of quality defects and cost saving measures. Troubleshoot machinery and assign work orders to maintenance.
