CurrentMick was born in Oklahoma City and has resided in the OKC area most of his life. He earned his engineering degree from the University of Oklahoma and his law degree from Oklahoma City University. His engineering experience has an emphasis in manufacturing from several engineering roles including those at York International Corporation and International Environmental Corporation. As a registered patent attorney, his legal experience has an emphasis in intellectual property matters for several clients including IBM and Seagate Technology. Mick is proficient in the mechanical, electrical and computer arts, with demonstrated success in complex arts such as digital data storage and transmission, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.Mick is a seasoned attorney from many years of in-house practice as well as many years of large-firm, boutique, and solo private practice. Mick is adept in the boardroom, the courtroom, and anywhere in between. He serves as virtual general counsel for a number of clients, managing in-house counsel, outside counsel, engineers and technicians, and professional staff. He advocates for our indigent community by providing pro bono legal services such as for Trinity Legal Clinic. He is a proven accomplished negotiator in resolving disputes, and when necessary, he is a proven accomplished litigator in federal and state courts. In addition to intellectual property law, Mick practices family law, estate planning & probate, criminal defense, civil litigation, personal injury, business and contract law.If you knew Mick's father and mentor, Bill McCarthy, you probably know he "did law differently." Since his father's passing from this life in 2017, Mick continues to hold the torch high for this vision.
