I am currently employed at Open Lines as an Environmental Consultant. In 2018, I completed my Master of Science, majoring in Marine Biology and Ecology at James Cook University where my research focused on Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA). I have a driving passion for the environment and enabling a sustainable future where society can develop without the expense of the natural environment. My Masters research aimed at addressing a key environmental problem in Australia by challenging existing environmental assessment practices. I applied my critical thinking and analytical skills to develop a unique, empirically grounded criteria to assess the strategic nature of Strategic Assessments completed under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.I regularly prepare approval documentation for both state and federal processes across a range of sectors including mining, renewable energy, urban development and large scale infrastructure. I have also been a key member of project teams for Strategic Assessments under the EPBC Act and relevant state processes. This has included ongoing stakeholder consultation, client meetings and workshops. Additionally, I have utilised my skills in marine and aquatic ecology to undertake environmental surveys across Australia and prepare the relevant environmental reports (including data analysis and GIS).
