At the beginning of the summer, I was sworn in under the 3rd Year Practice Act. During the summer, I was able to conduct a revocation hearing, two preliminary hearings and numerous sentencing hearings while being supervised by a licensed attorney. I sat second chair on a murder case as well as a burglary case. I fully prepared a misdemeanor traffic offense case that was set to go to trial, but I was unable to try the case as the Judge decided to continue it. Additionally, I helped with research issues and trial preparation on numerous other cases.

I have worked in various capacities with this law firm beginning in high school and most recently this past summer. I began in high school by designing and implementing a file reorganization and destruction strategy. More recently I have performed numerous research projects involving our client's legal issues as well as attended client meetings.

I worked with Professor Dennis in order to examine the effects and admission of rap lyrics into criminal trials. Additionally, we researched how children are used as informants in criminal trials and the impact this has on the children. I formulated and discussed memorandums concerning my research with Professor Dennis.

I worked as a Tennis Instructor during the school year as well as during the summer. I created and implemented tennis instruction for group and individual lessons. I tracked and collected payments from clinic participants. Additionally, I managed assistant tennis instructors providing them with guidance and advice.

I clerked for a sumer at this mid-size Greenville law firm. I developed a criminal trial manual to assist attorneys in making evidentiary objections in court. I also researched various legal topics including judicial recusal, eminent domain, and a property tax assessment. After my research, I drafted memorandums to present and discuss with attorneys to assist them in their discussions with clients.
