My experience while studying to be a Business/Data Analyst has instilled in me many important technical and soft skills. I graduated from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Business Analytics with a distinction grade. Over those 3 years I have gained the necessary skills and experience to enter the analyst field. I have excellent oral and written skills, I am analytical and thorough, I work well under pressure, I can give and follow instructions precisely and I am able to adapt to changing circumstances.Regarding hands on experience, my most notable experience was when I undertook a capstone unit where I worked as an analyst and a WIL unit where I worked as a consultant. As an analyst I was tasked with preparing, cleaning, analysing and interpreting data to draw upon insights that would be turned into recommendations that would be provided to the client. I was 1 of 5 group members who pooled and shared our knowledge with one another to find any insights that could be extracted from the data. The most notable parts of this learning experience are: - I presented insights and recommendations to the client- I identified key insights- I helped in the creation of in-depth reports- I lead the team and ensured we were on track- I used various data analysis tools to visualise findings- I setup meetings with clients and team membersFor the WIL unit, I worked as a consultant, when undertaking the Business Development Clinic. At first, I was taught the 7-lever framework. After this point, we were split up into teams of 6 and were assigned a small business, where we would aim to find a 10% win in one of the levers for the business. The most notable parts of this learning experience are:- I learnt the 7-lever framework- I setup meetings with our mentor, client and team members- I helped in the creation of in-depth reports- I performed market research to understand the business position and environment- I presented recommendations to the client
