Led the purchase of waste feedstock for the teams biofuels refining asset in Brunsbuettel, Germany. Building supply chains from scratch, establishing relationships and negotiating with suppliers was key to ensuring that this asset was one of the leading waste-to-energy biofuels producers globally. In addition, Mitchell built Mercuria's Sustainability Platform and Traceability Standard, key IP that permitted the company to be fully ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certificate) certified and RED (the EU's Renewable Energy Directive) compliant. Mitchell was elected Chairman of the European biofuels industry RED Working Group. -
