About Mitchell Lewis

I'm an art director with a broad range of experience; including the design of brand identities, point of purchase collateral, direct mail, emails, restaurant menu design, web sites, social media branding, posters, and motion graphics.I pride myself most in speed and efficiency, completing projects on time and often at less than estimated cost. I love communicating with my clients freely and openly, despite being the one designing the end product I feel a collaborative effort yields the best results. I don't believe in a "designer knows best" approach, preferring to give clients guidance and push their ideas by lending them my own experiences and professional opinions so they can better articulate and grow their vision into something I can execute as a fully realized and professional product. I believe this is a more efficient process resulting in less concepts, less revisions, and a happier, more involved client.I love working with multiple mediums, and start the majority of my projects working by hand because the brain works differently and more free-form when it doesn't have the constraints of technology. My finished products are typically a blend of both worlds; I use technology to make my hand-made processes more efficient.I allow my interests to subtly influence my design, drawing from parkour, illustration, video games, board games, music, design books, and the wilderness. I believe this allows my designs to take on interesting and unique attributes it would otherwise lack were I to design in a vacuum.For samples of my work, please visit valca.design
