Mitch Melamed's practice focuses on the representation and counseling of entrepreneurs and businesses in the acquisition and sale of businesses and business assets, estate planning, wealth management and asset protection. He is recognized as a leader in the representation of self-funded health plans, wealth managers and physicians and physician groups. He devotes a substantial part of his practice to representing third party administrators, consultants, self-funded health benefit plans, managed group underwriters, physicians and medical and dental practices. Mitch is nationally known for his ability to save millions of dollars for his subrogation clients. Mitch received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1968 and his Masters of Law in Health Law from DePaul University in Chicago in 1996. Mitch currently serves on the Board of Visitors for the University of Illinois College of Law, Golf Advisory Board for the Village of Glencoe, Illinois, and the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center and Freedom Center in Chicago, Illinois. Additionally, he serves as one of the firm’s representatives in an international lawyers’ network, Legal Netlink Alliance (www.legalnetlink.net). He previously served as a Village Trustee for the Village of Glencoe, Illinois, from 2001 to 2009 and as the attorney for the Northwest Suburban Alliance of Commerce and Industry from 1988 to 1998.
