The first is as a Developer for our customprojects that may include any or all of the following technologies; HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, Flash(Actionscript), MySQL. We currently have a full-time PHP developer and I support him with any PHP work whilstalso providing the HTML templates for him to work with.The second area of this role is as Client Support. This requires me to provide maintenance and support toexisting clients if and when a problem or issue should arise with their project. This can range from simpleupdates to existing content through to bug fixes with of the above mentioned technologies.The final area of this role is pure development. My employer utilises the Business Catalyst CRM (BC) system. Based on my recommendation the switchwas made to both Joomla and Wordpress platforms which both offered a far greater range of add-ins and are afar more efficient and cost-productive environment to work in. Liaising with insurance companies, assessors, repairers, etc to ensureclients expense and inconvenience is minimal.I was involved in process review for my role and other roles within the company and created various on-linetrainingmanuals and information and applications for the companies intranet. I was also responsible for the on-goingtraining of newemployees in the use of the FastTrack Claims Management software.I felt that my position had come to gradual halt as there was nowhere left for me to go within the organisationand it’s expansion and growth had not lived up to what I was initially told.I did not feel that I was being challenged and each day was becoming more routine which helped me decide tofocus my attention onto Web Development as this had always been something that had challenged me andprovided all that I required from my job.Winner of the ‘Team Merit’ award a total of 6 times.
