This often included:-Large installations of upto 2000A substation connections.-Installing and commissioning smart meters for ActiveStream/PlusES-Lugging and termination service mans and sub-main cables for commercial projects-Excavator operation to install underground service mains and communications/NBN conduits for residential installations-Connection to overhead and underground networks for both Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy-Installation of private poles including underground consumers mains-Installing and terminating main switchboards ranging from large commercial installations (200A+) to high end residential installations- Engaging and liaising with clients and builders to ensure electricity connection will be completed on time.- Contribute to the education and training of apprentices, especially with network connections and metering.

As a Senior Connection Technician I have led our team through various programs such as the service wire replacement program and the energy lighting program, as well as other contestable works including overhead service connections up to 400A, underground pillar connections up to 200A, metering and tiger tailing.Achievements:- Developed and implemented new computer based system and procedure to minimise hand written job forms for service assessments and tracking, saving time and improving efficiency both in the office and on site.- Training of junior technicians in the work procedures for service wire replacement.- Involved in the restoration of customer power supply after major storms throughout the Sydney and Newcastle areas, removing fallen power lines and keeping the public safe.I have often acted in the managing position of team coordinator performing many duties including assessing and planning daily run sheets for the team, processing paperwork, managing stock and materials, completing on site safety interactions, liaising with residential and business customers, planning and scheduling power outages and using Ausgrid's computer systems and software.

Being involved in the service wire replacement program, I acquired my Level 2 service training in categories 1, 3 and 4 to be authorised to perform pole top service connections, meter installations and point of attachment connections. After sitting for a MR truck licence and EWP licence, I furthered my skills in the energy lighting program, performing installations and maintenance for pole mounted daylight controlled flood lights.I later undertook Level 2 training for category 2 for a project requiring service connections to a new underground distribution network replacing an out dated façade mounted ABC distribution network.

During my apprenticeship with EnergyAustralia, I gained a variety of skills in different sections and projects across their network. Through their training I have grown a vast understanding of the electrical network and the components necessary for the transmission of high voltage and low voltage electricity, from generation to household supply, inspections and testing.
