Responsible for the newly created financial analysis function for the Fleet and Tech Ops organization. This includes reporting on the financial, operational, and goal performance of 400 shops and 40,000+ vehicles to senior management. Ad hoc analysis of component usage, labor allocation, sourcing contracts, and fleet allocation is required to identify and drive cost savings. Member of the leadership team that determines the strategy, maintenance requirements, and performance goals for the fleet.Created, directed and implemented the maintenance budget process and methodology for 400 branches. The new process involved all the major parties, from shop manager to Senior VP, to determine the budget. Budget performance prior to this new method was constantly 5-15% off plan. Year to date performance is now within 1% of plan.Developed shop financial reporting process, including month end variance analysis, labor analysis, and ad hoc reporting for over 400 locations.

Lead negotiator/author for high value, cost reducing, long term purchase/repair contracts for aircraft components.Coordinated the technical and performance requirements for each sourcing event with teams from Engineering, Finance and Operations. Authored Request for Proposal, analyzed the bids, and negotiated the final language and commercial terms. Assist in the implementation of contracts, inventory sale, and ongoing vendor management.•Negotiated a $50M ten year Landing Gear contract with a major European MRO provider, saving $14M in operating expense, reduced inventory by more than $3M.•Worked with a cross-functional team to outsource the Slide shop, negotiated the commercial and legal terms. Successfully bartered excess slide piece part inventory for critical spares.•Championed the switch to outsourced Medical Oxygen Providers. As a result, inventory and shop cost was reduced, a new revenue stream was created, and a better product was made available to the customer.

Built operating and capital budgets, provide input on the accounting and cost impact for removal, retirement, and production of jet engines.• Developed $200M annual operating and capital budget for JT9D (747), PW2037 (757), JT8D (DC9) engine shop. • Execute month end close, variance analysis, provide monthly financial forecasts, and report division MBO’s.• Constantly create and execute cost reduction initiatives to adjust for aviation industry recession. $100M savings.• Developed multiple scenarios for the retirement of DC10 and 747 fleets leading up to and after 9/11. Successfully optimized engine life, resulting in less engine maintenance and maximized “free” flying.
