As part of the V&A East Youth Collective, I work closely with the engagement team, curatorial team and commissioned artists, with a focus on improving access for young audiences in museums. The Youth Collective collaborates with world-renowned artists and emerging practitioners taking part in the V&A East Museum and Storehouse’s first commissions. The purpose of my role is to research existing methods of access in museums to collaborate on and deliver an outcome publicly available to other young people.

My internship in the Scripted Development department of Universal International Studios has allowed me to gain first hand experience in developing television projects from inception to greenlight. My responsibilities include managing submissions, compiling project-specific research and reading and reporting on books, scripts and other materials relevant to the development process. I also provide support to the wider team including day-to-day admin, executive assistance and updating of databases. I regularly create and distribute alerts and memos including a monthly newsletter, which I personally curate based on current entertainment news and social media trends!

I assist with performing arts workshops and productions (most recently a performance of The Periodicals by Sian Owen as part of National Theatre Connections) for children and young adults, including those with additional needs. I’ve been trained in safeguarding and continuously offer pastoral support to participants throughout each project.

As a previous participant in many of Hackney Empires projects (known as Hackney Empire Creative Futures), I have developed, delivered and assisted with various projects, ranging from one-off intensives to month-long programs. In this role I also offer pastoral support to participants when necessary and have been trained in safeguarding adults and children.

Assisted with transcribing raw footage, consulting archive material and preparing content for the ongoing production of the feature documentary TWIN ON THE CORNER. Worked with Trint transcription software to accurately document and describe rushes as part of the editing process, as well as conducting research and other administration tasks to aid in the post-production process.

Assisted with a 6-week project with the Hackney Caribbean Elderly Organisation, working towards a final project centred around ‘Survival Tools’ for the younger generations. We looked at old proverbs and stories from around the world - including their own - which accumulated into a series of radio plays based on their experiences.

In the build up to the opening of Soho Theatre Walthamstow, Soho Theatre have been running projects and creating opportunities to get to know the local community. I was fortunate enough to be able to assist on one of these projects: Soho Theatre’s comedy and theatre taster sessions, run by comedian Ben Salmon. Throughout 8 sessions participants experimented with stand-up, improv, writing skits and developing their personal style and persona on stage, building up to a final sharing of work in the final session.
