Let me help you!I have spent my career taking complex, messy data and creating clear, digestible reporting and analytics that support business decisions. I have worked in data and analytics in multiple industries and I have worked both as a front line analyst and a leader of analysts. My overall approach involves 5 key philosophies:1. Continuous Improvement Is the Goal - In order to consistently deliver maximum quality, small iterative improvements should be applied to make sure value is delivered while progress is made.2. We Can't (Shouldn't) Try to Do Everything - Put another way, understanding the priority of requests is critical. In general, it is more valuable to make a mile of progress on one objective than an inch of progress on a hundred objectives3. Integrity is a Prerequisite for Success - Whatever is reported should be consistent with what the data says. Analysis should always be performed with the objective of finding truth, not proving or disproving an opinion. 4. Innovation Is the Differentiator - Reporting the past is important, as is bringing basic visibility to data. These types of descriptive reports bring visibility where there is none. However, best in class analytics also push the envelope of using analytics tools to predict events and prescribe actions. Even in descriptive reports, best in class organizations find creative ways to present the information so it can be rapidly consumed and understood.5. Collaboration Precedes Adoption - Successful analytics cannot be done without a strong understanding of customer and key stakeholders needs. Working closely with stakeholders leads to a better product and a greater sense of ownership from the stakeholder.
