Undergraduate research on driving simulation, and autonomous driving.Designed force feedback steering system to enhance simulation realism, by applying dynamic resistance to steering wheel, based on wheel angle and vehicle speed. The system was designed such that the wheel can be operated autonomously.Designed tilt platform for car to sit on to address problem of motion sickness. Users reported experiencing motion sickness when using simulator for any extended amount of time. To address this, I designed a platform for the car to sit on, that will tilt the car to simulate body roll and forces experienced under braking, acceleration, and turning. In conjunction, these changes drastically reduce motion sickness, while also increasing simulation realism.
